Smoking Bans
Smoking bans are becoming more and more common across the world. Although still controversial and often disliked by smokers, these smoking bans work to protect non-smokers from second-hand smoke.
Although some of the first smoking bans were in public places, including workplaces and government buildings, they are now just as likely to be found in restaurants and bars. An even newer idea may be to have a smoking ban in your own home.
A new study, Household Smoking Bans and Adolescent Antismoking Attitudes and Smoking Initiation, found that 'home smoking bans may promote antismoking attitudes among youths and reduce progression to smoking experimentation among youths who live with nonsmokers.'
So don't think you are being rude when you tell visitors they can't smoke at your house, either inside or outside on the patio or in the backyard. Simply tell them you are trying to discourage your kids from smoking.

After all, it’s your house.
Like the old Eddie Murphy routine…”It’s my house. My house! If you don’t like it, you can get the _ out!”
Have a heart and think about the children, not just the adult,
