Your Developing Baby

Your baby's development has progressed quite a bit in her first six months.

At six months, your baby is likely:

  • rolling over
  • able to pull up to a sitting position without any head lag
  • beginning to sit up without support and will master this developmental milestone by seven months
  • turning to sounds and voices and may begin to respond to her own name
  • beginning to imitate speech sounds and talk in single syllables
  • reaching for and holding objects
  • able to support her weight on her legs with support
  • exploring her environment with her hands and her mouth
  • enjoying some play time

Over the next few months, you baby will begin to stand while holding on to things, put syllables together, pick up things with a thumb and finger grasp, and wave bye-bye.
