Clinical trials are medical research studies that evaluate new drugs and other treatments and new uses for established treatments to determine if they are safe and effective.

Children with Asthma

Children with ADHD

Current trials may include the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in preschool and school-age children, nutrient intake, MRI brain imaging, stimulant drug treatment, biological markers, genetic aspects of ADD, lead exposure and treatment of youth with ADHD and anxiety.

Children with Bipolar Disorder

Children with Cancer

Children with Diabetes Mellitus
Clinical trials to find new treatments for children with diabetes mellitus. Current trials may include the diabetes prevention study, islet transplantation, use of xenical in children and adolescents, and preventing complications of diabetes.

Children with Epilepsy
Clinical trials to find new treatments for children with seizures and epilepsy. Current trials may include info on ketogenic diets, taking antiepileptic drugs during pregnancy, and managing children with difficult to control epilepsy.

Children with Hepatitis
Clinical Trials for children with hepatitis, including hepatitis C, chronic hepatitis B, biliary liver cirrhosis, hemochromatosis, and HIV infections. Current trials may include comparing single photon emission computed tomography (spect) and liver biopsy, long-term interferon treatment, use of ribavirin, lamivudine, and combination drug therapy.

Children with Herpes
Clinical Trials for children with herpes, including herpes simplex encephalitis, . Current trials may include the use of Valacyclovir (Valtrex), and suppressive therapy with oral acyclovir suspension following neonatal herpes simplex virus (hsv).
