Simplicity Crib Recalls

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, at least 13 children have tragically died in recalled Simplicity cribs and bassinets over the last few years.

The fact that Simplicity, Inc. changed hands last year in a foreclosure sale complicates these recalls for many parents. It is even more so now that SFCA, Inc., the company that purchased all of the assets of Simplicity, Inc. now itself seems to have gone out of business. The CPSC reports that 'SFCA Inc. is no longer answering phone calls, responding to e-mails from consumers, or providing repair kits to fix hundreds of thousands of defective cribs.'

Any one who has or is using a Simplicity crib or other Simplicity baby product, including parents, daycare providers, thrift store owners, and online stores should check if they have any of their recalled cribs, bassinets, or play yards.

If you do have a recalled crib that hasn't already been repaired, be sure to dispose of it and find a safer, alternative crib for your baby to sleep in.
