Note how this foot turns inward in this baby with a club foot deformity. Unlike other foot alignment problems that can be caused by positioning before they were born, a club foot deformity can not easily be straightened out.

Treatment for club foot begins shortly after the child is born and may involve manipulation, casting, and surgery.
