The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the voluntary recall of just over 46,000 Bugaboo strollers because "a button on the stroller's carrycot/seat carry handle can become disengaged and cause the handle to detach, posing fall and choking hazards to young children."
There have been at least 58 reports of the carry handles detaching from these recalled strollers, which include the:
- Bugaboo Cameleon - SN 04011090900001 to 04031101009999
- Bugaboo Cameleon - SN 08011090900001 to 08021100800386
- Bugaboo Cameleon - SN 140100093600531 to 140103123350418
- Bugaboo Donkey - SN 170101105300001 to 170104130900500
The recalled Bugaboo strollers, which were made in China, were sold nationwide for between $980 to $1600 from January 2011 through December 2012. If you have one of the recalled Bugaboo strollers, remove the carry handle from the stroller until you can get a free replacement handle.
