The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has warned about Listeria infections and their probable link to cantaloupes for about a week now.
The FDA has now issued a recall of Rocky Ford whole cantaloupes from Jensen Farms of Holly, Colorado.
The whole cantaloupes have a green and white sticker that reads: Product of USA- Frontera Produce-Colorado Fresh-Rocky Ford-Cantaloupe or a gray, yellow, and green sticker that reads: Jensen Farms-Sweet Rocky Fords. They were shipped to IL, WY, TN, UT, TX, CO, MN, KS, NM, NC, MO, NE, OK, AZ, NJ, NY, PA between July 29 and September 10, 2011.
If you have any of the recalled cantaloupe, throw it away. At least 22 people have gotten sick in seven states with Listeria that is thought to be linked to these cantaloupes.
If you have cantaloupe without a sticker, call the store where you bought it to find out where the cantaloupe came from.
