Spring Allergies

Even as we begin to move out of cold and flu season, many kids will continue to have a runny nose, as they now move into their spring allergy season.

With the first day of spring, we may get warmer weather, spring showers, flowers, and more fun times outside for kids, but it also signals the start of spring allergy season. In addition to a runny nose and sneezing, your child with spring allergies may have watery, itchy eyes, dark circles under his eyes (allergic shiners), and an itchy nose.

Learning more about allergies can help parents get their kids some much needed relief.

Since apparently 79% of otitis media effusions are viral, why are you still emphasizing antibiotic treatment?
I am trying to educate parents about the real causes of URI including the majority of OM in kids and reduce the use antibiotics (and misuse of them) for viral conditions. It is more difficult when parents go online and read that antibiotics should be used.
