Burn Awareness Week 2008

Sunday February 3, 2008

Burn Awareness WeekFebruary 3 is the beginning of Burn Awareness Week and marks the start of a year long campaign by the Shriners Hospitals for Children to help prevent gasoline burns. Do you have any extra gasoline that you keep for a lawn mower, leaf blower, boat, or your car? If so, then you should learn how to keep your kids safe from that gasoline.

Most importantly, the Shriners Hospitals for Children recommends that you use and handle gasoline in a responsible manner, only store gasoline in approved containers, and don't allow children to handle gasoline, even when they are supervised.

Burn Awareness Week is also a good time to learn about fire safety and other ways to prevent and treat burns.
