Croup Symptoms

This is a common time of year when kids may wake up with a seal bark cough and difficulty breathing, symptoms of croup, which can be a scary thing for parents.

Learn about the classic symptoms of croup, so that you will be prepared if your child gets this very common childhood infection. These symptoms usually include a "croupy" or barking cough, hoarse voice, difficulty breathing, runny nose, and fever.

I was disappointed that epiglottitis was not mentioned in the croup summary. I know it is much less common with Hib immunization but it will still occur and it can kill so quickly.
