Baby Food Recall

Sunday July 15, 2007
Baby Food RecallGerber has announced a voluntary recall of their Gerber Organic Rice and Gerber Organic Oatmeal 8 ounce cereal boxes.

Fortunately, there is no Salmonella or other infection hazard involved in this recall. Instead, according to the Gerber Products Company, 'a limited quantity of product may contain lumps of cereal, which do not dissolve in water or milk and pose a potential choking hazard.'

Consumers should stop using this cereal and can get a full refund from Gerber. As an alternative, you could use their non-organic single grain cereals or another brand of organic cereal, like Earth's Best Organic Whole Grain Rice Cereal.
