Vaccines have always been a bit controversial, but Gardasil, the HPV vaccine that protects girls against four types of HPV, or human papillomavirus, including the two types that cause most cervical cancers and the two types that cause the most genital warts, has been especially controversial.

Why all the controversy about Gardasil? Most of it seems to revolve around that some people don't like the idea of their child being "forced" to get a "new" vaccine that protects against an STD, especially since they don't believe that their child is going to be sexually active...

My opposition to the madatory vaccine does not have to do with me not believing “that their child is going to be sexually active”. I feel the way I do because there has not been enough testing. 5 years is not enough!
If a 14 year old had the vaccine 5 years ago how do we know what effect its had on her reporductive system? Chances are that at 19 she hasn’t had any children yet so how do we what, if any effects they will face. That is why I am against MANDATORY vaccines.
