cord blood banking Once your baby is born, you have a lot of decisions to make. One thing that it is almost too late to decide on is whether or not to bank your baby's umbilical cord blood. That is an important decision that you should make well before your baby is born.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recently made it a little easier for parents in an updated policy statement in which they discourage parents from banking cord blood as an 'insurance policy' for later use in private banks.
