I wanted to shed some light on lice treaments. I tried everything from mayo to tee tree oil. Rid x,Lice be gone, and also mallithion.Im not sure if that is how you even spell it. But we did everything. The only thing that worked was WHITE VINEGAR. PLEASE JUST TRY IT.I SPENT THREE MONTHS TRYING ALL THESE OTHER REMEDIES AND WAS TO STUBBORN TO LISTEN TO MY GRANDMOTHER.AFTER CRYING FOR DAYS AND CLEANING UNTIL 4 AM I FINALLY GRABBED THE VINEGAR SATURATED A TOWEL WITH IT AND WRAPPED IT OVER MINE AND MY DAUGHTERS HEAD TIGHTLY WITH A SHOWER CAP OVER IT AND SLEPT FOR THE FIRST NIGHT IN 3 MONTHS.WHEN WE WOKE UP AND REMOVED THE TOWELS WE COULD ACTLLY SEE THE LICE.TO THINK ALL THE MONEY WE SPENT AND STRESS WE WENT THROUGH.AND ALL IT TOOK WAS A 3 DOLLAR BOTTLE OF WHITE VINEGAR.TO ALL THE MOMS AND DADS OUT THERE WHO ARE STRESSED LIKE I WAS. PLEASE JUST GIVE IT A SHOT.YOU STILL HAVE TO DO ALL THE OTHER THINGS LIKE VACCUME,WASH EVERYTHING, AND BAG ALL THE STUFFED ANIMALS IN DARK GARBAGE BAGS.OR JUST WASH THEM IN HOT WATER AND DRY THEM IN HOT WATER.THROW OUT HAIR ASSICORIES AND BRUSHES.BUT PLEASE DO TRY THE VINEGAR.IT REALLY WORKS. GOOD LUCK.

I know for a fact that white vinegar works. In fact, the first time we had to deal with head lice, my daughter’s pediatrician told me that he could not recommend anything that is sold over the counter because it’s dangerous. He said to mix up one part mineral oil and two parts white vinegar, soak their hair in it, put a shower cap on them and leave it for one hour; only one treatment needed for lice and eggs. I think the oil may be to keep the lice from getting on them again.

The plant by the name of Elecampane, because of its vulnerary and parasiticidal properties is very successful in the treatment of lice, and scabies. It is a natural pesticide.

Jena, Thank You, I am going to try it on my 7 yr. old tonight, as I just learned that my sister in law has known for 3 or more days that all 5 of her kids have head lice, and refuses to treat them as she says it is not able to be caught by casual contact with furniture her kids have been on. So I checked my 2 kids’ heads and my daughter has a few. I hope it will work using a plastic trash bag around the hair though, as I dont have a shower cap for her.
