No Shot Flu Vaccine

Sunday June 22, 2003
Do your kids hate shots?

Of course they do.

Now there is an alternative to a shot for the yearly flu vaccine. The FDA has approved FluMist, an intranasal live virus influenza vaccine for healthy children and adolescents, ages 5-17 years, and healthy adults, ages 18-49. While most people will just require one dose of FluMist each year, children 5-8 years old need two doses at least 6 weeks apart the first year that they get Flumist.

See our guide to FluMist to see if you and your children can get flu protection without a shot this year.
